This cartoon raises the question, “Why do we believe what we believe?” I’ve had non-Christian friends who have charged Christians with believing without any evidence. They have even quoted Jesus’ words to Thomas in John 20 – “Blessed are those who have not seen — and believe.” Their misuse of that text is meant to imply that religious faith needs no evidence. What Jesus is actually saying to Thomas is: “You had the eyewitness testimony of your ten friends about my resurrection, yet you demanded my personal appearance to you before you would believe!”
