We continue our quest to read 65 (of the 66) of the books of the Bible in one sitting — one book at a time, of course. Some of the longer books may take an hour or two. But there are benefits to reading a whole book at one time — and that’s called unit-reading.
I find it easy to spend three hours watching 300-pound multi-millionaires crash into each other — and I’m not talking about a conference of Baptist preachers! Why do I find it so difficult to spend serious time in God’s Word?
Today’s book is easy: 2 John. It’s short, but a couple of highlights that occur to me are:
1. I want to thank God this year for the truth, love, and joy He brings my way.
2. I want to do my part in protecting God’s people from false teaching by preaching sound doctrine in my ministry.
3. I want to care that others are walking in truth, love, and joy in their lives with Jesus.
How about you?
