Little does Calvin realize the truth of her statement!  I remember the stress of calling a girl to ask her for a date.  My mom asking me how the conversation went.  The sadness of being turned down.

In our mixed-up world in which women are often treated merely as sex objects, I’m surprised that more women are not furious at how they are depicted in the media.  Have you seen the commercial for the “mile-high club” that Carl Jr’s/Hardee’s has produced?  If you must see it, you can click this link.  It is nothing short of soft porn.

Where’s the outrage, ladies?  The Bible sets forth the highest perspective on women who (along with men) have been created in the image of God!  Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”  And that’s a truth good enough to make all of us go on living!

Men and Women . . .

A wife asks her husband, “Please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk and if they have avocados, get 6.”

A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk.

The wife asks him, “Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?”

He replied, “They had avocados.”
